Auto Rickshaw F1

We always knew that the Auto Rickshaw drivers in India were the craziest in the world. probably Bangkok rickshaw drivers could give them a competition, but still the Indian ones would win hands down. The dare devilry, I nay say, is sometimes a treat to watch... a sharply tuned skill only with hands on practice. :-) I know, I am not attempting to glorify those wretched drivers. But then... yeah... you have to give it to them, sometime or the other.

Because there was always that one time when a great rickshaw driver reached you to a certain place in the nick of time and helped you save a lot of blushes!!

rediff.com: Like Formula One, but with rickshaws

Have a good laugh!

Once i was stading in brigades and i waved at this auto for going to vivek nagar, roughly 4 kms from there crossing three signals..

The auto stopped and i got in..the time is 8:32pm.

This guy who is driving the yellow ferrai.. pulled the clutch and changed the gear and off we go...

Vishhhhhhhhhhhh.. this three legged mechanical panther over took all the vehicle...the maruthis..the zen..the hyndais..BMTCs..volvos...and anything which was moving on the road..

I couldnt find out whether he overtook any MIGs..

It was like travelling in a roller coster..zip and zap..into this gap ..into that corner..between those to bikes..then some occational slippery cuts..which pumped adrenaline, sweat and breath..

The time is 8:35..he again pulled the clutch and brought it to nuetral..the meter 18:00 INR..
I gave him an Orange colored 20INR and said "keep the change
"..
Off he went again!

I have contempt for autorick drivers, but for a few kind souls. Across the nation, they have the same character -- a good study material. What I found most amusing was the way the drivers in Ahmedabad put their leg out as an indication for turning (instead of the hand!) It's a hillarious sight.
