Will the Maharaj reign again?
Maverick sent me an email today with lots of statistical info on Saurav Maharaj Ganguly. There seems to be a mercurial rise till almost 2002... then started his decline. But till 2002 - he was right up there at the top. Not only that, what he accomplished in that period still makes him stay at the top! Check the compilation below.

I hope so. But looking at the way things are going, it looks bleak unless he comes up with quite a few big bangs in the domestic matches!
I am not sure if he is in or will make it to the 15 for the Vs. england series..
But what i will say is that he has been given too many opportunities and its been a long time :-)

@ mav, @ incredibly me: looks like wadekar has made up his mind. and probably, after yuvraj's show at the pak series this time... maharaj's berth is probably gone forever. its sad to see him go this way... but what are our options anyways?

True, a great player but BEFORE 2003. No team can afford to have somebody who has been out of form for almost 3 years now. Agreed he was the captain who led India to glory in the world cup and hes induced the lacking agression in the team, but again the team cannot have a captain who is a liability when it come to scoring.
Dada still has a lot of fight left in him and can post a comeback.
The only change he needs is in his attitude...!
