England Singh-ed in the first ODI at Kotla Stadium, New Delhi

Defending a modest total of 203 that India scored in 46.4 overs, India must have felt like staring at an uphill target. Unless the bowlers fired away and got early wickets, it would not be easy. What happened was precisely that. In the Indian innings, Gambhir gave the initial momentum after Sehwag failed for yet another time. After Dravid fell at 34, it was upto Raina, Pathan and Bhajji to give the late thrust and get India to a fighting total. Well, we were quite short of a fighting total. But we were able to defend it, thanks to the Singhs - Harbhajan & Yuvraj.

And England were singed under the Singh attack. Take a look at the scoreboard below. You can see only Singhs. Between them, Yuvraj and Harbhajan took 7 wickets... accounting for the England batting collapse.

My vote for MoM? Bhajji. 5 wickets and 37 great runs in 46 balls with 3 4s and a 6. He's da man! The Turbanator.

Bhajji...good for him. Long time since he won a match for India. About his nick...well I think his 'Turbanator' tag which he got after terminating the Aussies in the 2001 home series, expired long time back though some people continued to call him that way. I hope a few more performances like this and he deserves to get it back.
